Hike to the mystical Lake Toma, source of the River Rhine
Lake Toma with its clear, deep blue water is a secluded treasure in the Swiss Alps. Surrounded by steep peaks and green meadows, the lake exudes an atmosphere that is both tranquil and symbolic. It not only reflects the beauty of the surrounding landscape, but is also the source of one of Europe's most important rivers - the Rhine.
After a train ride to the Oberalp Pass, this hike to Lake Toma takes us past a lighthouse, bubbling mountain streams and blooming alpine flora. First rather, then a little steeper, we reach Lake Toma, which lies in an impressive hollow. From the lake, we climb another 30 minutes to the Badus mountain hut, where we can recover with a great view and a piece of cake. From there, we return to the Oberalp Pass and take the train back to Andermatt.
Minimum group size 4 people, maximum group size 8 people.
